A woman from Ontario, Canada, was recently surprised to discover she'd won a large prize. She got an even bigger surprise when she found out the true extent of her lottery success.
Muriel Graham, 68, won the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize in Canada Lotto 649 drawing held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She picked up her winner's check last week and admitted it had a few more zeroes on it than she originally expected.
"I was at the Mac's store and I thought I won $1,000," Muriel explained, "but the clerk said 'No. It's a lot more!'"
When asked about her plans for the money, Muriel said she intends to share it with her family.
"To have this much money is unbelievable," she said. "You work hard your whole life and then all of a sudden you get this big bonus."
