A cash-strapped Harvard University cafeteria worker's money troubles came to an end this week when she scooped a $10 million prize on a Massachusetts Lottery scratch-off ticket.
Rodriguez' home was foreclosed five years ago. She has been struggling with her debts ever since, but her $20 gamble paid off when she purchased a "$10,000,000 Diamond Millionaire" scratcher and bagged the game's top prize.
The lucky winner chose to take her prize as a one-off lump-sum payment of $6,500,000, less taxes. When asked about her plans for the money, she said she intends to buy a new home, go on vacation, and help out her family.
