A 69-year-old retiree from Ontario claimed a CAD$ 14 million prize on Monday and told officials at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto he'd managed to remain calm about winning such a large prize.
London resident, Youn-Sae Lee, won the Canada Lotto Max jackpot on Friday, September 12, 2014, but when he ran his ticket through a self-checker he originally thought he'd won $14,000. It didn’t take him long to realize he'd neglected to take a few more zeroes into account, but even then managed to take it all in his stride.
"I didn’t shout or jump up and down. I think the store clerk was more excited than I was," Lee said.
When asked if he had any plans for the money, Lee said he intends to leave it in the bank while he gives the matter some thought.
