A man from Johnson County, Indiana, has become $1 million richer by winning the 25th Anniversary Hoosier Millionaire prize.
The one-off drawing was arranged to celebrate the lottery's 25th year and gave lottery losers an extra chance to become a winner by registering with the Hoosier Lottery website and entering the numbers from their losing tickets into the draw.
The prize was won by, Edinburgh man, Ron Ritter, who became the 192nd Hoosier Lottery millionaire.
Ritter picked up his check on Friday. He was accompanied by his wife Penny and their 18-year-old daughter and had little hesitation over sharing his plans for the prize.
"I'm going to buy a house. That's first priority," he said. "We've been renting all our lives."
