Ticket Thief's Plans Fail to Come up to Scratch

A lotto loving thief from Wuhan in Hubei Province, China, was busted by local law enforcement officers earlier this week before he even had chance to scratch his stolen tickets.

The unlucky thief, who has been identified only as Tan, stole around 1,600 scratch-off tickets from a lottery stall on Monday. Unfortunately for Tan the entire incident was captured by security cameras so it was not long before the police were knocking at his door.

In an effort to explain his actions, logistic worker, Tan said: "I just want to have money to burn. I dream of being a jackpot winner."

A police spokesperson said: "All stolen lottery tickets are blacklisted. Once the winner comes to claim a prize, authorities will be alerted automatically."
