Store Owner Celebrates Selling a Winning Ticket

The owner of the Michigan store that sold a US Mega Millions ticket worth $66 million hosted a barbecue yesterday to celebrate his customer's lottery success.

Sunny's Amoco gas station and convenience store owner Sonny Tarhini has been planning the cookout for a while. The idea struck him as soon as he discovered one of his customer had won the June 13, 2014, Mega Millions jackpot, but it took a while for the winner to come forward so the celebrations were postponed.

Twenty-four-year-old Kelsey Zachow claimed her prize last week so Sonny finally managed to set his plans in motion.

"It’s a payback for the community," he said.
