"I wanted some sprite to go with my Southern Comfort and I couldn't find a bottle anywhere," Robert Silcox said. "I went from shop to shop. Eventually I went into Spar in Grange over Sands and picked one up, and decided to buy a lotto ticket while I was there."
Robert's decision proved to be a profitable one because the ticket turned out to be worth £111,812 and the win couldn't have come at a better time because times have been hard for Robert and his partner Emma Coulson.
"He's been working really, really hard," Emma explained. "It's been a very difficult time as we have had financial problems. This win is life-changing for us as it means we don't have to worry."
The couple now intends to carry out some home improvements and hopes to take a vacation sometime in the near future.
