EuroMillions Win is a Dream Come True for Limerick Man

A man from County Limerick visited the National Lottery Ireland's headquarters in Dublin on Thursday, picked up a check for €105,541 and said the win was a dream come true.

Limerick's latest lottery winner was one of three players who matched five of the numbers drawn in the EuroMillions drawing on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, and the win had a strange significance for the winner when he remembered a dream he'd had the night before.

"I dreamt the shop owner came down to my door with my ticket in his hand saying I'd won!" the winner explained.

The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, was accompanied by his adult children when he went to pick up his prize and one his daughters told lottery officials checking the ticket had been an especially memorable experience.

"It was like a scene from Willy Wonka in the house yesterday," she said. "Dad got out his ticket and we started calling out the numbers. Then the joy it was to find out that he had the Golden Ticket!"

But not all his children were present to share the golden moment.

"We all got phone calls with the news," a second daughter recalled. "He casually said, 'I’ve won a bit of money on the EuroMillions'. How much, I said. 'About €105,000!' No way Dad, I said!"

When asked about his plans for the money, the winner said he intends to share it with his family.
