Allan Clark and Karen Johnston won the guaranteed CAD$ 1 million prize in the Lotto 6/49 drawing held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, but only recently checked their ticket.
"I collect our tickets and wait until I have a batch of them to check all at once," Allan said. "That's why we didn't claim the prize until now."
The lucky couple now plans to replace their vehicles and pay off their mortgage.
"This is the perfect amount to change our lives," Karen said. "Life is short, so it will be nice to enjoy it a little more."
