Last Saturday's Lotto £3.5 million jackpot was claimed on Friday by a syndicate consisting of four British Legion Members. Barry Jackson, Brendan O’Rourke, Peter Lloyd and Dennis Speers will each receive a £893,634 share of the prize.
The four friends met 20 years ago at British Legion's Slough branch.
Syndicate leader Barry Jackson, 58, discovered the good news on Sunday, July 13, but he was not in possession of the winning ticket so he had to ring up Brendan O’Rourke, who pulled the ticket from his fruit bowl and double checked the numbers.
Once Brenden had confirmed the win Barry rang the other two syndicate members and gave them the good news.
All four syndicate members are delighted by the win and already have plans in place for the money. Barry intends to buy a new car and the other three winners are looking forward to getting away on vacation.
UK National Lottery Lotto drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The next Lotto drawing is on Wednesday, July 23. The estimated jackpot is £2.1 million.
