Euromillionaire Becomes a Mill Owner

Lottery winner Margaret Loughrey has purchased a historic mill and plans to turn it into a tourist attraction.

Herdman's Mill on the banks of the River Mourne in County Tyrone was founded in 1835. After a turbulent history it was acquired in 2011 by Connective Energy Holdings Ltd, who planned to use the site for a small energy plant.

Estate agent Ronan McAnenny said: "Margaret has big plans for this place; people will be delighted that the mill is in local ownership and while plans are at a very early stage, this facility should help regenerate Sion Mills and the wider area around it, which has been in need of investment for a long time."

Loughrey's €32 million Euromillions win in December 2013 remains the largest jackpot ever won by a Northern Ireland player.
