Big Lottery Fund: Ten Years and Counting

This month marks the Big Lottery Fund's tenth anniversary. The BLF distributes about 40% of the money raised by UK National Lottery Good Causes.

In an announcement made yesterday the BLF stated £6 billion in funding has been awarded since June 2004.

Projects that have recently been awarded BLF funding include the Armed Forces and Veterans Launchpad, which received a grant of £171,288 to help support vulnerable ex-servicemen; and the Stoke on Trent Foodbank, which was awarded £214,803 to help feed 10,000 people in immediate crisis.

Peter Ainsworh, Big Lottery Fund Chair, said: "Over the past ten years we have awarded close to £6 billion to projects large and small. It has been great to see small projects grow and thrive."
