Pizza Shop Scratcher Delivers a Sizable Win

A security guard who works at the Rockefeller Center in New York is now financially secure thanks to $3 million lottery win.

Rafik Sulaiman, 58, can probably attribute the win to his love of pizza because he purchased his winning New York Lottery scratch-off ticket at the Pronto Pizza, on 48th Street, during his lunch break.

Sulaiman purchased the $10 ticket from their vending machine, but didn't scratch it off until he returned to work so he was forced to make an impromptu return to the store.

"I went back to the guy to verify," Sulaiman said.

Sulaiman was presented with his prize on Thursday, May 29, 2014, and opted to take his winnings in a one-off, lump-sum payment of $1.5 million, but he has no intention of quitting his job and told lottery officials: "I'm just going to hang low."
