Euromillions Winner Wants to Give it Away

On Friday, January 31, 2014, an anonymous Euromillions winner from Haute-Garonne in south-west France scooped the entire € 72,149,579 jackpot. It was the seventh largest Euromillions prize ever to be claimed by a French player and the winner has just decided they want to give most of it away.

The French Radio station RTL reported the news on Thursday, May 29, 2014, stating the winner intended to donate around € 50 million to charity. This is believed to be one of the biggest charitable donations ever to be made by a French lottery winner.

The generous gesture has only one string attached. The winner wishes to be informed how the money is put to use.
