An Engineer from Essex proved that dreams really can come true when he picked up a share of the £3.5 million UK National Lottery Lotto Jackpot on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
Terry Vigus, 58, was one of three players who successfully matched the six numbers drawn that night. Each player received a £1,171,812 share of the pot, but for Terry the win brought on feelings of déjà vu.
"Three weeks ago I had a very vivid dream about the lottery. I saw the balls drop and—one by one—they matched the numbers on my ticket," Terry explained. "In my dream I had matched five and was waiting for the sixth ball to fall when I suddenly woke up!"
Waking at such a crucial moment annoyed him at the time, but although he told his wife Linda about the dream Terry managed to put the matter out of his mind. Then he saw his numbers flash up on the TV screen and everything seemed to 'fit into place'.
The couple didn't need to spend any time checking their ticket because their numbers were based on family birthdays so they both knew them off by heart.
"It's taking time for me to make sense of it," Terry said, "but I know it will make life for the whole family so much easier. No more money worries—it’s a good start."
Terry now plans to pay off his mortgage and his next big dream is to buy a top-of-the-range motorhome.
