A US Mega Millions player from Maryland has come forward to claim half of the $414 million jackpot from the March 18, 2014 drawing.
Maryland Lottery officials made the announcement on Tuesday, May 6, and said the winner wishes to remain anonymous.
The winner opted to take their winnings as a one-off, lump-sum payment of $76.4 million, after taxes and Lady's Liquors in La Planta, Maryland, will receive a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 23:00 (Eastern Time). The estimated jackpot for the Friday, May 9, 2014, drawing is $105 million.
