Eurojackpot Scooped on a Slovenian Ticket

Last Friday's EuroJackpot €28.2 million Jackpot was won on a ticket purchased in Žalec, Slovenia, and the lucky ticket-holder has an additional reason to celebrate because they have also set a new record by scooping the largest lottery prize ever to be won on a Slovenian ticket.

The ticket holder has yet to come forward to claim their prize and the Mayor of Žalec, Janko Kos said it is unclear whether the winning ticket was purchased by local resident or a visitor to the municipality.

The prize is eligible for local taxes so 15% will be deducted and the winner will walk away with €23.97 million.

The next Eurojackpot drawing is on Friday, May 23, 2014. The estimated jackpot is €10 million.
