A Canada Lotto Max player from Calgary was glad he'd made a mistake with his ticket on March 14.
When Giuseppe Dolcecore ran his ticket through the checker he thought he'd won $100,000, but when the clerk double-checked the ticket he told the astonished winner he'd got it wrong. His ticket had actually won a $1 million Maxmillions prize.
Maxmillions are additional $1 million prizes that become available when the Lotto Max Jackpot reaches $50 million.
When Dolcecore shared the news with his wife she didn’t believe him and her response was as ironic as it was appropriate.
"It must be a mistake, you make mistakes all the time," she said.
