Mega Millions Loser Consoled by Scratch-Off Ticket Win

A man from Tifton, Georgia, failed to win a (US) Mega Millions prize, but managed to pull off a $100,000 scratch-off ticket win instead.

Alwyn Perryman, 60, purchased his winning ticket from the Lil Pantry #8 on N. Tift Ave. in Tifton.

"I just went in to buy a Mega Millions ticket, and I bought a couple of instant tickets," Perryman explained.  "I scratched it [the winning ticket]  in the store. I couldn't believe it."

Perryman got lucky playing the Georgia Lottery's 50X The Money scratch-off game and although his lotto winnings were not the Mega Millions he had hoped for Perryman is happy with his prize and plans to retire next year.

The last time a Georgia Mega Millions player had a sizable win was in December 2013, when Stone Mountain resident, Ira Curry, scooped a 50% share of the $324 million Jackpot.
