Lottery Winner Nearly Got a Second Ticket

A Massachusetts man who discovered he was holding a winning lottery ticket nearly got less welcome ticket when police caught him speeding on the way to calm his lottery prize.

Rockland resident Scott Lowe, 22, was stopped by Hingham police, but when the young man told them he'd just won $50,000 on a Massachusetts Lottery scratch-off ticket, and explained he was rushing to the lottery headquarters in Braintee to claim his prize, Lowe's emotional state was so evident the officer decided not to give Lowe a ticket after all. He issued a verbal warning instead and urged Lowe to dive safely in future.
