A Louisiana
man who claimed a $1 million US Powerball prize on Wednesday says he plans to
pay off a few bills and then travel around golfing.
Golf Course
manager Alex Bookter, 69, bought his lucky Quick Pick ticket from Cracker
Barrel on South Foster Drive, Baton Rouge and managed to correctly pick all
five numbers, but failed to get the Powerball. He is the first Louisiana resident
to win $1 million Powerball prize this year. He received $700,000 after federal
and state taxes.
The US
Powerball is multi-state game that offers a minimum jackpot of $40,000. Numbers
are drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tonight's Powerball draw is at 22:59
(EST) and has an estimated jackpot of $247 million
