Lori Colford's brother gives her a lottery ticket every Christmas, so she was not surprised when he did it again last year, but she forgot all about the ticket until last week, when she began taking down her Christmas decorations and found it under the tree.
Colford had the ticket checked at her local Chevron gas station, and when the retailer told her to contact the British Columbia Lottery Corporation she knew she had struck it lucky, but never expected her lotto Christmas gift would be worth $1 million. She now intends to buy a new car and take a trip with her family.
