A Calgary
man who won $1 million in the January 17, Lotto Max draw says the first thing
he wants to do is help out his parents.
When Dean
Banman discovered he'd won, the first thing he did was get on the phone to his
father. "I told him to start looking for a house," Banman said. The
lucky winner also plans to buy himself a new home and a new vehicle, but Banman
admits he was initially skeptical about the win.
"I
scanned it once [the ticket], and then a second time to double-check," he
said. "I didn't think the machine was reading it right so I stood in line
to get the cashier to check it too."
