resident had an especially merry Christmas this year due to a $900,000 win on
the Florida Lottery Mega Money Draw.
Forty-eight-year-old
Maria Dennis bought her winning ticket from the Publix super market on West
main Street, Inverness, and claimed her prize last Friday. She decided to taker her winnings as a one-time payment and received just over $674,190.
The present
version of Mega Money has been running since 2004, and Florida Lottery officials
say Dennis is the fourteenth jackpot winner in the County. The next
Mega Money draw will be held later today (23:15 EST) and has a minimum jackpot
prize of $550,000.
