Ohio Lottery Keen to Start a New Christmas Tradition

The Ohio Lottery Commission has kicked-off a new campaign to encourage players to purchase lottery tickets as Christmas gifts and is hoping to start a new tradition.

The lottery's latest TV commercial shows a family gathering where individual family members show differing levels of interest for Christmas traditions. It then asserts: Everyone loves lottery tickets as a new tradition.

The commercial is just part of a much larger campaign designed to convince viewers lottery tickets are a gift that will never go out of style.

"It’s really about gaming for entertainment and becoming a part of [families’] traditions," a lottery spokesperson explained.

Lottery tickets are already an increasingly popular gift item the world over. In April this year a man from Mount Gambier, South Australia got a fantastic birthday surprise when the Quick Pick ticket his mother gave him bagged a AUD$1.3 million prize.
