Pennsylvanian Syndicate Bags a $2 million Win

A lottery syndicate from York, Pennsylvania, were in top form on Thursday when they were presented with a large ceremonial check for $2 million.

After nearly a decade of placing their numbers, the syndicate, which is made up of 10 workers from Industrial Distribution Group, finally got lucky when their ticket matched the five main numbers, but not the Powerball, in the October 22, 2014, US Powerball drawing.

The group purchased their lucky ticket from Sunoco A-Plus Market, which is situated across the street from their place of work. The store will get a $10,000 retailer's bonus for selling a winning ticket.

The US Powerball is a multi-state draw that offers a minimum jackpot of $40 million. Numbers are drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 22:59 (EST). The next drawing is on Friday, October 31, 2014, and it’s a big one. The estimated jackpot is $159 million.
