Lottery Winner Follows in Aunt's Footsteps

A man from Hagerman in Chaves County, New Mexico, did his bit to turn winning the lottery into a family tradition earlier this week, when he scratched his way to a sizeable prize.

Two months ago 23-year-old Toby Bracher became inspired to start playing lottery games when his aunt, Kathy Gregory, from Carlsbad, San Diego, won a $1 million US Powerball prize.

Now Bracher has followed in his aunt's footsteps by winning a $10,000 prize from a New Mexico Lottery scratchers card.

Bracher was presented with his winner's check on Monday and told lottery officials he plans to use the money to buy a plot of land to graze cattle.
