New Zealand Powerball Jackpot Won by Player in North Island

Saturday's New Zealand Powerball jackpot has been bagged by a player from Feilding in North Island.

The lucky player purchased the only ticket that successfully matched the six main numbers and the Power Ball, and got a NZD$ 7.2 million reward.

Saturday's New Zealand Powerball prize consists of NZD$ 7 million from Powerball First Division and NZD$ 200,000 from Lotto First Division.

The winner has yet to present their ticket, but Lotto New Zealand says the winning ticket was purchased from the Feilding Video Centre on Kimbolton Road.

This is the third sizeable win in recent weeks.

Less than two weeks ago a Lotto player from Auckland won the NZD$ 20.2 million Big Wednesday jackpot, and a few weeks before that a Powerball player in Blenheim scooped a NZD$ 4.5 million prize.

Lotto New Zealand's Head of Corporate Communications, Emilia Mazur, said: "To have three big Powerball wins within just a few weeks is pretty exciting for our players."
