Irish Lotto Player Proves his Mother was Right all Along

A man from County Cavan visited the National Lottery Ireland's offices in Dublin yesterday, picked up a check for €350,000, and told lottery officials the win had finally proved his mother right.

"My Mam always said if anyone was going to win the Lotto, it would be me," he said.

The man, who has opted to remain anonymous, won the Irish Lotto Plus 1 draw on Saturday, July 26, 2014, on a ticket he purchased from the Maxol Spar on Ballinagh Road in Cavan on the day of the draw.

The lucky winner played two lines. He used his own numbers for the first line and a Quick Pick for the second. The Quick Pick proved to be the charm and bagged him the prize.
