Australian Lotto Syndicate Honor Dead Friend

Ten men from Barragup, Western Australia, scooped a share of an Oz Lotto First Division prize just eight weeks after forming the syndicate in honor of a friend the week he succumbed to cancer.

Eight tickets matched the seven main numbers required to win the AUD$ 4 million First Division prize on July 29, 2014. The syndicate received  AUD$ 750,000 and syndicate members Eric, Mark, Scott, Jamie, Barry, Todd, John, Vern, Craig, and Tony gave a portion of the prize to the widow of their dead friend, Lance.

"We reckon he's up there watching us," Eric said.
