The woman has opted to remain anonymous, but the National Lottery Ireland states she purchased her winning €3 Quick Pick ticket from Dunphy’s Castle Shop on Cork Road just hours before the Friday, July 11, drawing.
The woman never gave the ticket a second thought until Monday, July 14, when she noticed it at the bottom of her handbag.
"When I checked the ticket I realized I'd won something, but I didn't know what!" the woman said. "I had all the family checking the numbers."
She picked up her check from the National Lottery's offices in Dublin on Wednesday. Placing it safely inside her handbag she joked: "I'll not forget this in there!"
