Scott Mater, 49, won almost CAD$ 7 million in the Canada Lotto 649 drawing held on June 4, 2014. He was one of two lucky players who successfully matched the six winning numbers and earned a share of the CAD$ 13.9 million jackpot.
Speaking of the day he bought his winning ticket, Mater admitted his incredible good luck was built on the back of a more modest win.
"I won money on some instant lottery tickets so I bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket with three lines and Encore," Mater said.
When asked about his plans for the money Mater said a new car was top of the list and stated he planned to invest some of the money and share the rest with family members.
