Retiree Gary Collicutt, 66, couldn’t believe his luck when he ran his Canada Lotto 649 ticket through a self-checker and discovered he'd who won the Canada Lotto 649 jackpot on June 28, 2014, so he rushed to another store and checked it again.
"I first checked my ticket on the self-checker. I thought I wasn't reading the numbers right. I figured I won CAD$ 500, CAD$ 5,000 or CAD$ 50,000," Collicutt told OLG officials last week. "I went to another store to check the ticket again and the true amount of CAD$ 5 million was verified!"
When asked what his plans were for the money Collicutt said he intends to help out his two children and some extended family.
