Lotto Player Forgot about his Big Win

An Australian lottery player from Melbourne who won AUD$ 700,000 in February has finally claimed his prize. When asked why he had taken so long to come forward he told Tattslotto officials the winning ticket has slipped his mind.

"When I checked my ticket in February and realized I'd won Tattslotto, I thought I'd be excited, but it turns out I was just overwhelmed by it all," he said.

The winner's mind was jogged by a news story about the unclaimed prize.

The winning ticket was purchased on February 22, 2014, in Bourke Street in Melbourne's CBD.  The ticket was not registered so lottery officials were unable to chase the matter up and get his money to him sooner.
