Eurmillions Winner Mucks in to Help a Good Cause

Welsh Euromillons winner Les Scadding donned a hi-vis vest, a hard hat, and a pair of work boots on Friday, July 13, and helped with restoration work on a historic canal waterway in Cwmbran, Wales.

Scadding, who scooped a £45.5millionEuromillions prize in 2009, was one of several Welsh lottery winners who gave up their time to scoop sludge and perform other restoration work at the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal at Llantarnam.

The team of lottery winners was taking part in the Waterworks project-led by Torfaen Council and the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust, which recently received a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £845,500.
