A woman from South Dublin accompanied her husband to the National Lottery Ireland's head office earlier this week and told lottery staff his recent win had given her quite a surprise.
"I heard a roar from him and thought he was watching the football. Then he said, I've won the EuroMillions!'" she recalled.
The man, who has opted to remain anonymous, was one of four players who won €385,460 for successfully matching the five main numbers and one Lucky Star in the Friday, July 4, 2014, drawing.
A second Lucky Star would have secured last week's €42 million jackpot.
His initial plans include paying off his mortgage and buying a better car, but a holiday may also be on the agenda.
"The kids want to go to Disneyland in Florida. Maybe we’ll just have to do that too!" he said.
