"This is Cuero," said local Councilman Doyle Cruz. "There has never been a winner here in Cuero, Texas."
Saturday's jackpot was unusually large for a Lotto Texas drawing, but that's not surprising because there have been two rollovers each week since a player in League City, Texas, won the $12 million jackpot on January 1, 2014.
Saturday's US Powerball jackpot proved to be more elusive. An eleventh rollover has increased the estimated jackpot to $192 million. The next Powerball drawing is on Wednesday, May 4, at 22:59 (Eastern Time).
