A syndicate of workers from the Rolls Royce manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, visited the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters on Monday and claimed a $1 million prize.
The 18 workers, who call their syndicate the 'Royal 18', have been playing the lottery together for several years, but Lady Luck seemed oblivious to their endeavors until the weekend when they successfully matched all five of the main numbers in Saturday's US Powerball drawing.
Each player will receive $55,555, before taxes.
"It's not enough to retire, but it's enough to do a little something," said syndicate member Greg Simms.
If the group had matched the Powerball as well they would have scooped Saturday's $60 million Jackpot.
The Winning US Powerball Numbers on Saturday, June 21, 2014, were 05, 06, 37, 41, and 54. The Powerball was 26.
Tonight's US Powerball drawing will be held at 22:59 (Eastern Time). The estimated jackpot is $70 million.
