The winner bought her ticket from the 72nd Deli Market in Tacoma, but admitted to lottery officials the purchase was something of a rarity because she seldom buys more than a couple of lotto tickets a year.
She and her husband both plan to continue working, but she told lottery representatives they will use some of the winning to pay off their mortgage and plan to save for their retirement.
Washington Lotto drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, May 7, draw is $2.2 million.
