Pompano Beach Man Claims Mega Money Prize

Pompano Beach resident, Alvin Forrester, 64, has claimed the $1.5 million jackpot from the Florida Lottery Mega Money drawing held on May 2, 2014.  The Lottery announced the news on Thursday and said Forrester chose to take his winnings as a one-off lump-sum payment of $1,157,521.02.

Forrester purchased his winning ticket from the Food Plus Food Store on North Dixie Highway, Pompano Beach, and the store received a $1,000 bonus for selling a jackpot-winning ticket.

Meanwhile, the Florida Lotto jackpot continues to be evasive. There was a rollover on January 22, 2014, and the rollovers haven't stopped since, so the estimated jackpot for Saturday, May 10, is $43 million.
