Part-Time Police Officer Cops a $1 Million Win

A cash-strapped police officer from Rankin, Pennsylvania, who has been working several jobs to support his wife and three children, was one of two lucky winners who  successfully matched five of the US Powerball numbers drawn on Saturday, May 24, and scooped a $1 million win.

Speaking in an interview with KDKA News reporter Brenda Water, Rankin Police Chief Ryan Wooten confirmed one of his men was a Powerball winner, and Wooten should know because he double-checked the ticket.

"So, we go down to the Super Stop, we slide it through the machine and it's like a one and all of these zeroes," Wooten explained.

The officer's name has not been made public at this time, but Wooton said the officer seems to have no plans to quit the force.
