Wednesday's CAD$ 9.9 million Canada Lotto 649 jackpot has been claimed by a couple from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia.
Lower Coverdale residents Peter and Rhonda Lockhart discovered their win on Thursday and had an extra reason to celebrate because it was their fifth wedding anniversary.
The Lockharts picked up their check on Friday and said they plan to use some of the money to renovate their home and fund some landscaping work in the garden.
To win the Canada Lotto 649 jackpot players have to match all six numbers drawn. Jackpots start at CAD$ 5 million and have no cap. The largest Lotto 649 jackpot to date was won on April 13, 2013, when four winners each took a share of CAN$ 63.4 million pot.
