Ontario's latest lotto millionaire picked up her CAD$ 50 million Canada Lotto Max check on Tuesday and admitted she originally thought she'd won CAD$ 50,000.
Toronto resident Sophie Rizavas, 63, won the jackpot in the Friday, May 9, 2014, drawing, but didn’t discover she'd won until the following day when she visited a local retailer and checked her ticket.
When the machine buzzed and began flashing the retailer said: "I think it’s $10,000."
Rizavas disagreed, stating: "I don’t think so, I think it’s $50,000."
They were both wrong and when everyone in the store came over to congratulate her Rizavas became so emotional she began to cry.
She wasn't the only one who was moved to tears.
"The retailer started crying as well," she said.
