"Someone has to Win it," Says Shreveport Man

If you take a trip and to Shreveport, Louisiana, and ask Errick Harper why he plays the US Powerball he'll turn to you and say, "Someone has to win it." And he should know because on April 9, he scooped a $1 million win when his Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the main numbers, but failed to get the Powerball.

Harper's second tier win netted him $700,000 after state and federal taxes and although he claims to have no plans for the money as yet, he does admit he is looking forward to living a little more comfortably.

The US Powerball is a multi-state draw that offers a minimum jackpot of $40 million. Numbers are drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 22:59 (EST). The Wednesday night drawing is just hours away and the present estimated jackpot is a staggering $110 million.
