Anthony Callese bought his winning ticket while he was picking up some soda. He had less than $10 in his pocket at the time, so the $5 scratcher just about cleaned him out, but it turned out to be money well spent because his $5 gamble resulted in him winning $75,000—the game's top prize.
"I kept staring at it thinking can this be right?" Callese admitted. "I read it over and over to make sure."
Callese said he intends to leave most of the money in the bank, but told lottery officials he may treat himself to short vacation in Vegas.
