The £577,348.50 prize (from the January 17, drawing) had remained unclaimed for so long many local residents were beginning to wonder if the prize would be lost.
Last month a EuroMillions player from the Brighton and Hove area failed to come forward before the 180 day deadline and forfeited a £1 million prize.
The whereabouts of the Brighton and Hove's latest EuroMillions winner had become such a topic of local interest that one of the main attractions at the recent Brighton Model World Exhibition was a diorama depicting the search for the missing ticket-holder.
The winner has chosen to remain anonymous, but a National Lottery spokesperson said: "We're delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win."
