The lucky birthday-boy wishes to remain anonymous but he told lottery staff he'd been using the same numbers, a combination of his date and time of birth, for 23 years without success. Their final outing proved to be a profitable one though, when they provided him with a $4.9 million birthday present.
The winner, who is known to be a Pinetop resident, opted to take the money and run in a one-time lump-sum payout of $2,972,633 before taxes.
