Franz Prokop's
lawyer told the court his client bought the ticket while shopping with his
former common-law partner, Angelina Dushop, who then claimed the prize with her
son nearly a year later.
A manager
from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation testified that Peter Dushop
seemed unclear about where and when he bought the ticket, so they were
initially reluctant to award the prize, but later decided he did buy the ticket
and gave him the money.
Prokop has been unable to prove his claim to the court.
