Two San Diego residents picked up their $2.62 million (US) Mega Millions prize on Friday. Jennifer Carney and Kathryn Rosensweet won the money by matching five numbers in the December 17, $648 million Jackpot draw.
The two friends got lucky after they splashed out on $20 worth of Quick Pick tickets while visiting the Fuller Liquor and Deli, 3896 Rosecrans St, Sports Arena. The store owner will also receive a lottery payment of around $13,000 for selling a winning ticket with a value of over $1,000.
"I'm paying off my house," Carney told California Lottery officials, but Rosensweet's only pressing need is a new carpet.
