An
82-year-old Austrian man blew his EuroMillions winnings in just a few weeks
because he claims life is too short to save.
Ex Foreign
Legion soldier, Egon Hauber from Linz, Upper Austria, lives in an old people's
home, but care home staff had to report him absent without leave at Christmas,
when he went missing after receiving a €25,000 EuroMillions prize.
Hauber says
he went on a luxury holiday and then took a friend and her children on a
shopping spree. Now he's back and the money is gone. "I am 82, I could be
dead tomorrow," Hauber said. "Who am I saving for? I lived it up like
a millionaire."
